Windham Tech's 2nd Annual Car Show a Big Success

Despite the rainy forecast we pulled off a successful car show. The show was planned for Saturday October 3rd.  Everyone involved with the show met on Thursday - all with the same concern, a 60% chance of rain the day of the show. It was then that all agreed to make a decision Friday at 11:00.  Will the show be going on as planned or postponed until the rain date Sunday the 4th?   The weather was just not cooperating with us so the show was moved to Sunday despite four other car shows scheduled for that day.

There was great support for the show and for our school from classic car owners.  We registered 86 cars that day.  Thanks for bringing them out!

Once again Glenn Keegan, show organizer/PFO member, and the CT Street Croozers did an outstanding job. We added seven more classes this year to give more people a chance to walk away with an award.

The following shops at Windham Tech contributed to make this event such a success: Culinary Arts offered a wide variety of food; Automotive students set-up, helped park cars and cleaned up; Carpentry offered Adirondack chairs for sale; Electronics Shop provided the sound system; and Manufacturing Technology created the 17 custom clocks individualized for each car class – these were given out as the awards.

Walking around the show I could see the pride in each and every Windham Tech student and faculty. A big THANK YOU for all the help!

Hope to see you next year!
