Coach Tanguay
and Coach Pepper were impressed with the team’s defense, and
the ability to overcome the tournament jitters. The defense also
had to adjust to a team that passed the ball to the deep corners
of our court. This adjustment kept us in the game.
The offense
was equally balanced between all 5 hitters on the court, making the
Barlow defense honest in their court coverage. The fans at the OWTS
Gym helped motivate the team during the match.
The coaching
staff also wants to congratulate all players over the past ten years
and most importantly, this years squad, for their determination to
reach 100 overall wins this season. One of our team goals this
year was to reach this milestone, and in our tenth year anniversary,
we accomplished our goal. This makes the Boy’s Volleyball Team
the most successful team in school history. This is a tribute to
the determination and dedication of the players, coaches, and families
to our program.
The coaches
also want to congratulate the team for winning the Connecticut Boys
Volleyball Officials Association Sportsmanship Award for 2009. This
is the fourth time in ten years this team has accomplished this goal.
The Wildcat’s will play
in the state tournament quarterfinals on Friday, June 5, 2009 at
the number one ranked team in Division M, Masuk High School at 5pm.
