The
Wolcott Technical School Football Wildcats secured the first
victory in school history this Monday, October 1st, with a 25-16
win over the Housatonic Valley Regional JV squad. The game
was played at the Housatonic Valley athletic field.
Wolcott
Tech is playing a JV schedule in its first year. The school
is waiting for admission into the Pequot League and must play
a non-varsity schedule as it builds the new football program.
The
victory puts the Wildcat’s record at 1-2. The boys
had dropped their first two JV games previously, and were yet
to score a point.
Freshman
Isaiah Harrington took care of that as he had the honor of scoring
the first touchdown in school history on a five yard run that
made the score 7-0, when the point after was good by Eric Schmitt. Harrington
finished the day with 80 yards rushing and 12 yards receiving. Sophomore
running back John Prime was the big hero as he scored 3 touchdowns
on runs of 75, 10, and 70 yards. Prime finished the game
with a total of 220 yards rushing.
