Larry
Pomerleau is currently the Manufacturing Technology Department
Head at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in Torrington. He
first began teaching five years ago at his alma mater, Kaynor
Technical School in Waterbury. Since arriving at Oliver
Wolcott in 2006, he has instructed students in Grades 9-12
in manufacturing processes that will enable all students with
a variety of learning styles to be successful in the manufacturing
field.
Currently, Larry is in the process of implementing
the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Assessments,
along with NIMS site certification for the Oliver Wolcott Manufacturing
Technology Department. Larry is a co-advisor for the class
of 2012. He is a member of the Northwest Chamber Manufacturing
Advisory Board.
Larry resides in Wolcott
with his wife Alicia, and two children, Alexa and Gregory. He has
been a volunteer in his community for many years, as a coach for
the Wolcott Girls’ Softball Association, and as a volunteer
at his children’s schools for various events. At this
time, Larry is a little league coach for the Baseball Association
of Wolcott. He is also an active member of St. Peter and Paul
Church. His hobbies include fishing and woodworking. |
