Wolcott Tech Places Third at 2009 Connecticut Skills USA Championship

Competing against approximately 25 other High Schools, including every Technical School in our system, the Oliver Wolcott Skills USA team finished with a third place victory in this years’ competition.  Vinal Tech was the first place winner.

The Health Tech team of Siobhan Browne, Aaron Montgomery, Sarah Zbell, and Lacie Zerbarini finished third in the Health Knowledge Bowl.  Lance LaSata took third in the Plumbing competition, and Tyler Pavlak also got a third in the Culinary competition.

The group left OWTS at 5:30 AM and returned home at 9:45 PM.  The competition was held at Vinal Tech in Middletown, and the awards ceremony was completed at Middletown High School.

"The competition was at high level again this year," said Co-advisor Mr. Ejzack. "Our kids did very well placing third out of all those schools.  We did well last year, but this year was even better."
