Mr.
Bruce Ejzak and Mr. Michael Oleksiw, SkillsUSA advisors, would
like to congratulate this years’ students for their great
showing in this years competition. They would also like
to all the shop instructors for the time they spent with the
students, preparing them for the competition.
Friday,
March 28th, was a long day. Leaving at 5:45 AM from Oliver
Wolcott, the students met at Vinal Tech before 7 AM. The
competitions were held all over the state, most concluding
before 6 PM. A concluding ceremony was held at the Lyman
Center on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University. The
students finally returned to Torrington at 10:15 that evening.
Mr.
Ejzak and Mr. Oleksiw said that it was great seeing the kids
getting their awards. Students receive certificates,
and some even merit college scholarships. “There are
few occasions for everyone from all the schools to get together. It
is a long day, but we had fun and the kids did great,” they
concluded.
