The Lady Wolverines Volleyball Team had a great season this year; probably the greatest season ever.  We call it our year of “firsts”.  The “first” time Abbott Tech has had a no-loss regular season with a league record of 14 wins; 0 losses.  The “first” time Abbott has gone to the league finals, with our first loss of the year to Grasso Tech.  The “first” time Abbott Tech has beaten a team outside our league with a win over Lyman Memorial in the second round of the State Tournament.  This year is the “first” time that Abbott Tech has gone to the Quarter Finals in the State Tournament.

The saddest time of all is when we have to say goodbye to seven Seniors.  This year we say goodbye to Co-Captains Samantha Ferreira and Arleny Paulino,  Kamilla Brito,  Ailin Barbosa, Renata Machado, Evangelista Reinoso, and Team Manager Mercedes Joyner.  Abbott Tech is looking forward to the return of Juniors Maryoly Paulino, Andrea Galvão and Madison Donaldson.  Showing great promise for Abbott Tech are Sophomores Flaisa Neves and Rafaela DaSilva.  Wth the loss of six seniors, the Varsity team will have many openings, but Coach Fernandes and Coach Fast feel that some key JV players will help fill the void next year. 

Congratulations to Samantha Ferreira who was voted to the All-League First Team and to Arleny Paulino and Kamilla Brito who were voted onto the All-League Second Team.
