Library Media Center

Library Media Specialist - Sally Markiewicz

The mission of the Library Media Center is to prepare our students and staff to become active and effective users of information, promote a lifelong love of reading and learning, and to provide materials that support the academic and trade technology goals of the Connecticut Technical High School System.


The Henry Abbott Tech Library Media Center is the information center of the school. It is dedicated to the continuing education of all students and staff with a focus on today's educational and vocational technology.

Internet access - internet access is available.

iCONN.org - Access Connecticut’s digital library for free from school. You can also use this resource from home with your hometown library card.   The site contains newspaper and magazine articles, reference resources, and a citation machine.

Grolier Online can be accessed from school or from home.  See Mrs. Markiewicz if you need the password for home access.

Auto Repair Reference Center Database - may also be accessed from home.  The username and password are posted at school... or ask Mrs. Markiewicz.

Over 6,000 Fiction and Non-Fiction Books - Except for general reference books, all books may be borrowed for a 3 week period. An online card catalog (OPAC) is available on every computer in the library.

Magazines - We feature over 30 magazines and periodicals for research, professional, and general reading.

Daily Newspapers - One local and one national newspaper are available.
