On
Thursday, November 19th, Bristol TEC staff held a “thank
you” brunch for all of our supporters who aided in keeping
the school open despite state budget cuts. Besides Interim
Superintendant Pat Ciccone, other guests included Senator Tom
Colapietro, Representatives, Frank NiCastro, Betty Boukas, William
Hamzy, Chris Wright, Mayor of Bristol Art Ward, Mayor of Plymouth
Vinny Festa, State Education Board member Beverly Bobroske,
Chamber of Commerce Vice President Cindy Scoville, NESMA
president Bill Lathrop and others. System consultants
Ray Mencio, Mark Hussey, and Mark Koncewicz were also on
hand.
Four of our students represented
the student body at the luncheon. These included Sara Hammer,
Erica Prior, Jesse Morton and Jeremiah Royer, who thoroughly
enjoyed mingling with our special guests. The food produced
by our Culinary Arts department, and overseen by Chefs Fortuna
and Tasimi, was nothing less than spectacular. The Welding
department and Manufacturing Technology department, headed
by Joe Hanlon, Skip Kern, and Ben Russell, Steve Hanecak respectively,
produced some beautiful tokens of appreciation for the event.
After
the luncheon, our guests toured the school. They all praised
the hard work and dedication our staff and students exhibit
towards their trade. |
