The Certified Nurse Assistant Program offered at Bullard-Havens Technical High School is a training program approved by both the Connecticut State Board of Education and the Department of Health and Hospital Services. The program offers clinical training in both Long-term Geriatrics as well as Acute Care clinical facilities in addition to the classroom and lab instruction.

The course is offered three times over the school year to post graduate adults: Fall, Winter, and Spring

Length of course: 10 Weeks
Hours: Classroom 8 am to 12 pm Monday through Friday
Clinical Hours: 10 scheduled days at the assigned facilities- 8 am to 2 pm

Fees for the 2009/2010 school year:
$50 Registration
$1,350 Tuition

In addition the student is required to purchase their textbook and white uniform needed to attend clinical.

Financial aid: there is no financial aide since this a 10 week certificate program but the student can apply for a Waiver of the tuition if financial hardship is proven. The ·waiver is applied for at registration.

Upon successful completion of the course a Certificate is issued. In addition, certification entitles the individual for eligibility to take the written and skills examinations necessary for entry onto the Connecticut Nurse Aide Registry. The testing
is administered to our graduates at the conclusion of the course with no additional fees for this testing.

Surveys show that our graduates are actively employed in all areas of Health care: Long-term care (Geriatrics), Hospital, Home care, Clinics, MD offices, etc. In addition, many have gone onto further education in the Health fields.
