Plumbing
and Heating Students Work on Habitat for Humanity Project
in Bridgeport
Plumbing
and Heating students installed the rough plumbing and heating
for a habitat for humanity home in Bridgeport. The junior
and senior students under the direction of Mr. Eagan installed
PVC piping for the Drain, Waste, and Vent system along with
a combination of copper and PEX for the heat and domestic
water systems. The home has 1 ½ baths and has 3 zones
of heat with a direct vent gas fired boiler and an indirect
water heater.
10th grade students helped out on the project too. They assembed
a hot and cold water supply manifold for the Habitat for Humanity
home. The manifold is used for piping homeruns from each fixture
to each branch on the manifold. The manifold is made out of
copper; the homeruns will be made of PEX material. Below are
some photos of the Juniors and Sophomores at work on the project. |
