The Bullard-Havens Adult Bilingual English as a Second Language and World of Work programs have been in existence since 1985. Our mission is to provide students whose first language is not English with the necessary language skills, basic education, and computer technology training to ensure successful participation in the local community.

Tuition is free through funding provided by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Title II and the Connecticut State Department of Education Technical High School System.

The World of Work program is designed for the advanced ESL learner and offers:
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
· Keyboarding and office skills
· Basic English and Math
· National External Diploma Program (NEDP) (Students are selected via scholarships)
· Employment Skills classes to assist in career planning, resume writing and building interviewing skills.

· GED

· Civic

The ESL program offers:
· Three levels of ESL instruction (beginning, intermediate & advanced) to increase listening, reading, writing, and conversation skills.
· A computer language lab where students use specialized software to develop language and keyboarding skills.
· A weekly Health/ Parenting class.
· Wireless Language Laptop Lab
· Employment Skills classes to assist in career planning, resume writing and interviewing skills.

An on-site Career Counselor and Employment Coordinator are available to provide assistance with employment and/or transitioning into higher education or occupational skill training.

9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Monday through Friday
