| The
Connecticut Technical High School System is actively recruiting
teacher candidates to fill vacant or potential vacancies occurring
throughout the school year. Our 18 schools are located located throughout
the state, giving candidates tremendous options to live and work
in many beautiful locations.
The system serves 10,900
students and is seeking teachers in all major high school subjects:
science (biology/chemistry), math (algebra/geometry), english, social
studies, physical education/health, computer education and library
media. Student service positions such as school psychologists, guidance
and counseling, social workers, reading, special and bilingual education/TESOL
are also available. We offer 39 technologies and are also recruiting
for those positions.
Each school is part of
a statewide campus rebuilding project that will ensure state-of-the-art
classroom facilities within five years. The project includes wiring
all buildings for voice, data, and video. The system is carrying
out a five-year capitol equipment purchasing plan to upgrade each
technology area with the latest tools and equipment necessary for
us to meet business and industry needs. A sophisticated technology
plan and budget priority will ensure that all students and staff
members have access to computers and Internet services as well as
digital classrooms.
We are excited about our
future and believe our quest for highly qualified instructional
staff members will greatly enhance our students' success.
Currently, our students'
performance is measured by state proficiency testing, which includes
the Connecticut Mastery Test and Connecticut Achievement Performance
Test. Student performance is measured by the National Occupational
Testing Institute in selected technology areas.
