CTHSS
sets stage for student/teacher exchange programs
with French Culinary Institute
Culinary Arts students and teachers
will soon have opportunities to travel to
France to expand learning opportunities as
part of an agreement forged between CTHSS and Lycee Hotelier Quercy-Perigord
- a Culinary Arts institute for high school students in
Toulouse , France .
Administrators
from both systems are currently working out details and arrangements
for exchange programs between the
Connecticut Technical Schools
and the French technical institute.
France organizes its technical schools differently
than Connecticut
in that it has created schools devoted solely to each
technical discipline, e.g. culinary arts, carpentry, drafting and
design. Thus, it is
possible that this agreement can be expanded to compacts with other
schools that focus on other technologies.
Wilcox
Tech has just added the study of French for its Culinary Arts
students and will likely be the first to involve students in the
exchange.
