| CHINESE
EDUCATION OFFICIALS VISIT KAYNOR TECH
On Wednesday,
November 2nd, A delegation of Chinese Education officials visited
Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury, Connecticut. Their visit
was part of a tour sponsored by the Chinese government of schools
throughout the United States. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Abigail
Hughes, Superintendent of the Connecticut Technical High School
System (CTHSS), Robert Axon, Principal of Kaynor Tech, as
well as by staff and student leaders.
A sumptuous
luncheon was provided by the students of the Kaynor Tech Culinary
Arts program under the direction of Chef James Motasky. The guests
then watched a Powerpoint presentation about the school and the
community and then went on tours of the shop wing. This visit is
the first step in establishing sister relationships between Kaynor
Tech and a high school in Shandong Province. Kaynor Tech Principal
Axon and other CTHSS staff will be visiting China in April, 2006
to continue the relationship.
