Bristol TEC Students Work on Production Project
to Help Protect Connecticut Communities

Video Transcript

Chief Salvatore: I am Chief John Salvator from the Monroe police.

Chief Kiely: I am Chief Tom Kiely from the Trumbull police.

Chief Solomon: Chief Jack Solomon from the Easton police department.

Chief Kiely: And basically this is the cooperation of six towns. It's Easton, Monroe, Trumbull, Wilton, Darien and Westport. And this brings a capability for these officers to do rescue work. If we have a hostage, barricaded suspect, anything like that. Where firearms are being used, they have a vehicle now to rescue people and get them out of danger. It's a tremendous asset. Getting it through the military like we did, the work they did here at Bristol TEC was phenomenal. We basically for a little amount of money, the six towns in the region will benefit from having a $300,000 plus vehicle and it's a cheap insurance policy.

Chief Salvatore: Quite frankly, just a couple of months ago this was just a rusted, old military vehicle. I am amazed at the work these kids have done on this. It's just fantastic. Actually incredible.

Chief Solomon: I think I echo the senitments of my colleagues here. It's an outstanding piece of equipment and certainly commend the work of the technical school and thank them for supporting us and giving us this piece of equipment. Thank you.
