Goodwin Tech Principal Steve Anderson congratulating Walter

Congratulations to Goodwin Tech Senior Walter Cantarero who has been appointed to the State Student Advisory Council on Education (SSACE). Established by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), the Council gives Connecticut students a voice in educational planning and enables the State Board of Education, the Commissioner of Education, State Department of Education personnel, the Governor, and State Legislators to become familiar with high school students' perspectives on key issues. The SSACE will meet eight times during the school year at the Department of Education in Hartford.

Goodwin Tech Principal Steve Anderson said that he was very proud of Walter, "He is a very honest person with a great deal of integrity who is not afraid to give his opinion on issues. I think he will be a great representative of our school, our system and our state."

Walter said that he is very honored and humble to be selected to the position. "I will try my best to be a voice for Connecticut's students."
