Fran
Raineault, school nurse at E.C. Goodwin Technical High School in
New Britain, Connecticut, has been selected as the 2006 Nurse of
the Year for the Connecticut Technical High School System (CTHSS).
As school nurse at Goodwin Tech, Fran has gone above and beyond
in working with students and staff in promoting health-related issues.
She is co-chair of the Health and Wellness Committee at Goodwin
and supports staff by frequently distributing information on health
and wellness.
She always follows up with the families of students who experience
health problems and steers students to support services based on
her observations. Fran also developed a comprehensive "blood-borne
Pathogen" Powerpoint Presentation first given at Goodwin Tech
and then shared with other schools in the Connecticut Technical
High School System.
On Wednesday, May 10th, Fran along with 8 other nurses from other
state agencies, were honored at the Fifth Annual State Nurse of
the Year Award Ceremony held at the State Capitol. |
