President
Dwight D. Eisenhower believed that ordinary citizens of different
nations, if able to communicate directly, would solve their differences
and find a way to live in peace. In 1956, he put those beliefs
into action and created the People to People Ambassador Programs.
Since 1963, Student Ambassador Programs has taken thousands of
young Americans across international borders. Venturing abroad
or on our own continent, Student Ambassadors return home with
a greater sense of what it means to be a good neighbor and a
global citizen.
