Cheney Tech Student Nominated
as a U.S. Student Ambassador

President Dwight D. Eisenhower believed that ordinary citizens of different nations, if able to communicate directly, would solve their differences and find a way to live in peace. In 1956, he put those beliefs into action and created the People to People Ambassador Programs. Since 1963, Student Ambassador Programs has taken thousands of young Americans across international borders. Venturing abroad or on our own continent, Student Ambassadors return home with a greater sense of what it means to be a good neighbor and a global citizen.

From June 7th - June 20th Freshman Manufacturing Tech student Kevin Lombardo will be traveling to London, England; Normandy and Paris, France; Belgium and The Netherlands acting as a U.S. Student Ambassador.  The group will include 6 leaders and approximately 54 Student Ambassadors.

Kevin was nominated to the program by three of his middle school social studies teachers. Since Kevin has been at Cheney Tech he has won the Student of the Month Award in November has been an Honor Roll student.  Kevin is very excited about his upcoming adventure.
