In
an example of instilling an interest in volunteerism, twenty
two sophomores and juniors from Cheney Tech Carpentry took two
days off from their regular production jobs to help volunteers
renovate and expand a playscape at Blish Park in Marlborough,
CT. Some students dug holes for fence posts. Others cut,
predrilled, and assembled new sections of decking. Still others
installed new composite decking over the original decking that
was deteriorating. Everyone got along great and the students
hope they get another opportunity to volunteer. |
