The Lady Eagles had a tough season this year but
pulled through with a record of 2-8 in the conference and 4-15
overall. Senior Captain Tanya Tetreault was a strong presence
at first base as well as batting. She finished with a .413 batting
average after 19 singles, 3 doubles, and 1 triple and brought
in 10 RBIs. Senior Captain Christy LaRochelle rocked the pitching
mound after the some fine tuning and lots of hard work! Senior
Captain Colleen Brodeur resumed her position at short stop after
a long but courageous battle due to a terrible injury. She carried
a .469 batting average with 14 singles, 6 doubles, and 2 triples.
Another stand out player was junior Amanda Stringer who found
her home at second base as well as our lead off batter. She finished
the season with a .439 batting average, 24 singles, 2 doubles
and 3 triples.
The freshmen showed up with plenty of athletic ability to go
around! Stephanie LaPorte improved tremendously throughout the
season and dominated the outfield. She also added a .407 batting
average with 8 singles and 6 doubles. MVP of the season goes
to freshmen Sarah Brodeur who is versatile enough to play any
position on the field! She was the catcher, but could play any
position in the infield for outfield! Her batting average was
a .490 with 13 singles, 8 doubles, and 3 triples as well as 10
RBIs.
Overall the team had tons of fun despite the challenging season
we had. Team building activities done by the seniors helped to
keep our spirits up and the girls dedicated. Next season we hope
to get back on track and form a great team! |
