Gayle Salisbury, School Nurse at Ellis Tech, has been selected by the Women's Night Committee of the Patriot Newspaper to receive the "Unsung Hero Award". She along with 9 other women from northeastern Connecticut are being recognized for their years of volunteer work to help their community.

Salisbury has been a member of the Lion's Club and was past president for two years. She also works as an Emergency Medical Technician with the local volunteer ambulance crew. Salisbury also has been an Instructor for the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support, CPR and AED.

She was honored at the The Patriot’s, 30th Women’s Recognition Night held on May 4, 2008 at Indian Ranch in Webster. Congratulations, Ms. Salisbury.
