The Henry E. Burgess Chapter of the National Honor Society held its Annual Induction Ceremony Thursday, May 29, 2009, in the gym. Eleven students will be honored for their excellence in Scholarship, Character, Leadership and Service. They are Holly DeParasis, Teia Yater, Justin Ballard, Jessica Duchesney, Kyle Hinds, Stephanie LaPorte, Garrett Berthiaume, Sarah Brodeur, Ryan Eck, Matthew Lindell and Tyler Martinelli.

Selection of the National Honor Society (NHS) candidates begins with the publication of the second marking term Honor Roll. To be considered, students must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors and have maintained Honor Roll status for three consecutive terms. Candidates are also rated by faculty on leadership, character and service. A member failing to maintain the standards of the NHS is brought to the attention of the faculty advisor and NHS officers and is subject to dismissal. A dismissed member is never again eligible for membership in the NHS and must turn in his or her pin, certificate and membership card.
