On
Saturday November 17th over 130 people gathered for the largest
ever game conference sponsored by the Ellis Tech. Simulation
Club. Over one-hundred paying gamers from three states
came through the door: a record for 19 conferences. Highlights
were the Magic tournament, Lord of the Rings miniatures,
Civil War and WWII miniatures and two games about the
Roman Empire.
Vendors represented were The Time
Machine of Manchester, CT; Cambridge Games
Factory of Brookline Village, Mass & Rising
Phoenix Games of Cherry Valley, Mass. Military,
fantasy & transportation board, miniature and card games
for twelve hours kept the players happy and the traditional
hot meatball grinders were a sell-out.
Club Advisor
John Haskell indicated that this year’s Ellis Con proceeds
will pay for the club’s staying two nights to attend the
Spring gaming conference at West Point sponsored by the cadets
of the US Military Academy, another annual tradition for over
15 years for students at Ellis Tech.
President Peter van
den Berg reports special planning is now going on for next year’s
Ellis Con, Number 20!, on November 15th, 2008.
