New
Britain Wal-Mart associates presented the E.C. Goodwin Technical
High School with a $500.00 grant. The donation was made as part
of the company’s community grant program. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez,
school social worker, applied for the grant.
This grant will be used for service learning
activities that E.C. Goodwin students carry out in their community.
These activities include the "Read to Someone Special" program,
a literacy promotion effort where Goodwin students read to kindergarten
and First graders at Diloreto Magnet School.
This is one of the many
programs at E.C. Goodwin that helps to promote a caring and connected
community. |
