In the short time Rob has been here and under his leadership, the electrical program has grown to maximum capacity for freshman. He almost instantly invigorated the electrical production work program, and electrical now brings in more production dollars than any of the construction trades; $10,000 dollars is not an unrealistic goal in production work for his shop.
Rob has recruited two PG’s that bring additional resources and opportunities to his shop and students. Rob is quick to have his students to respond to in-house production work as well which has saved the school hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars, in our construction budget. On days when the building is open to parents, Rob’s shop has a long line of parents waiting to see the shop and talk with the instructors.
Rob is active in growing his TTAC and has been instrumental in helping the other construction DH’s work together. At the beginning of this year, Electrical was virtually ready to go on the first day of school, no small accomplishment given Rob had been assigned here over the summer. Any visit into his shop will show kids are actively learning and can explain to the visitor what they are learning or working on. Rob’s actions over this school year exemplify what excellence in teaching and learning should look like here at EC Goodwin.
