| Both Boys and Girls Indoor Track teams did
an incredible job at the CSC Indoor Track championships;
with the girls taking a 7th place overall and the boys taking 3rd
to powerhouses Prince and Windham in the overall standings. While
only those finishing in the top three will be mentioned in this
announcement, please know that there were numerous top level performances
by many athletes. For the girls, Katherine Lemus took a bronze medal in the mile with a time of 6:48. Emily Borden took a bronze for her shotput throw of 29 feet, 5 inches. Liz Swinburne was Grasso’s FIRST AND ONLY GIRL’S MEDALIST, winning all conference honors in the high jump, clearing a height of 4 feet 6 inches. The boys relay teams had an incredible night, with the 4 by 800 meter, the sprint medley, and the 4 by 400 meter teams all taking silver medals. Jon Perry took the silver in the 1600. Greg Sugar also took a silver in the 3200, right behind Perry, who took the gold for the 3200 gaining all-conference honors. An EXCELLENT job by all athletes – congratulations on your performances. |
