To be selected, a student must have at least an 85 academic average for his or her freshmen year and first marking period of their sophomore year. Also, they must be enrolled in at least 3 above average clesses and no below average classes. Finally, the student must have displayed leadership and performed some service to their classmates, school, or community.

The qualifying students must complete an application indicating their academic, service, leadership, and character qualifications. Each applicant is then reviewed by the fully faculty.

Finally, a five-person faculty council votes to determine who will join this prestigious organization.
