| Norwich Youth Service Bureau Offers Opportunities to Norwich Tech Students
Pat
Dixe of the Norwich Youth Service Bureau visited Norwich Tech
on Friday January 18, 2007 to meet with students who are interested
in Participating in Cool Directions, a pre-employment opportunities
program. The program provides internship and job opportunities
for students in the junior and senior year.
Students from Carpentry, Retail and Health Tech met with Mrs. Dixe to learn about the program. Program eligibility is based on income guidelines and students are given instruction in resume preparation, interviewing techniques and provided with wardrobe assistance for that all-important interview.
Not
only are job skills emphasized but students are encouraged
to look at continuing education opportunities and are assisted
in exploring those avenues into the future. Cool Directions support
can even continue for students into a year after high school
is completed so it is a wonderful way to get into that career
or college of choice with a little extra boost. |
