Minutes

Meeting called to order at 5:40pm

 

Officers: President- Dana Wynn, present; Vice-President- Tim Krodel, present; Treasurer- Karol Gleason, present; Secretary- Natalie Lussier, absent

 

Quorum: Dr. Menounos, Lori Peeples, Kim Passmore, MaryLou Antiuk, Michael Gaffey, David Bellinghiri, Karol Gleason, Karen Edwards, Lynn Marceau, Robin Izbicki, Gilda Puccio, Tim Krodel, Dana Wynn

 

Financial Report: Given by Treasurer Karol Gleason. Current Dime Savings Bank account balance: $17,790.81. This was all that was available this evening, Ms. Gleason came to meeting directly from work. All were in favor of accepting report for this month.

 

Minutes from November’s meeting were read, motion to accept made by K. Passmore, 2nd. by D. Wynn, all were in favor, none opposed.

 

Old Business:

A.) Road Race- In process of getting registration form made, sponsor amounts are being decided, and Norwich DPW gave approval for date and use of Mohegan Park. All in order, to continue with at January’s meeting.

B.) Art Field Trip & Floral Design Fundraiser- Field trip is set for March 20, 2008. 2 buses donated with the help of Karol Gleason. Gas needs to be paid as well as fee for 1 driver. Karol donating her own time. Karol will get an absolute quote for expenses for Jan. meeting. Floral Design class doing “Wreath, centerpiece holiday fundraiser to raise $ for field trip in Feb. to Boston flower show. Dr. Menounos made motion to sponsor this fundraiser, G. Puccio 2nd. the motion, all were in favor. Forms to purchase the pieces were handed out.

C.) Lacrosse Uniforms- D. Wynn brought new info. for uniforms from J& D Embroidery. These folks took over most of Nassiffs local business. Floor open for any other suggestions. Info. given to M. Gaffey to research and review and hopefully get uniforms ordered by Jan. meeting.

D.) Student Council Update: G. Puccio let us know that they have raised approx. $1000.00 so far. $600.00 was recently used to purchase more supplies and approx. $4-500.00 remains on account.

E.) Dark Manor: No response to date with amount earned.

F.) Basketball Concession stand: K. Passmore & D. Wynn purchased $260.00 worth of goods, as well as a new cooler for drinks, signs and $ sheets have been made and PFO ready for 1st. game on Dec.5. M. Gaffey speaking w/ Mr. Pizza for pizza this year. Looking into pizza warmer (Adams Restaurant Supply?)

G.) Basket Raffle- L. Marceau, D. Bellinghiri, M. Cronin filling out paperwork for state, next up is paperwork for teachers and then for the students. Still in progress.

 

New Business

A.) Karol Gleason mentions that buses from the company she works for can be obtained for $38.50 an hour, (which is the Board of Ed. Rate,) for things such as field trips.

B.) H& R Block sent the PFO a notice they are willing to come and speak with us at Norwich Tech. about helpful tax info. PFO’s quorum liked the idea and will keep this in mind for perhaps an up-coming school event.

 

Principals Report: Given by Dr. Menounos

Grades close d today; Report cards should arrive before the holiday. School psychiatrist is back and interim psychiatrist staying on a bit longer. Phase 1 cooking for freshman will be available at the start of the 2008-2009 school year.

 

 Motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:40pm made by D. Wynn, 2nd. by T. Krodel, all were in favor.
