Meeting called to order at 5:40 p.m., Norwich Tech Library
Officers: Dana Wynn, President – present; Timothy Krodel, Vice-President – absent; Natalie Lussier, Secretary – present; Karol Gleason, Treasurer – present
Quorum: Dana Wynn, Natalie Lussier, Lori Peoples, John Kelly, Kim Passmore, Patricia Hans, Karol Gleason, David Bellinghiri, Michael Gaffey, Michael Garcia, Thomas Wainwright
April Minutes were reviewed by all in attendance. Dana Wynn motioned, Patricia Hans seconded the motion, all were in favor. April Minutes were accepted.
Financial Report: The current balance in the account is $14,473.66. Total check written was $7,029.69, total deposits was $5,141.80. All checks but two have cleared the account; The City of Norwich check for $125.00 for the use of the Pavilion is being held until the issue is resolved with the assignment of the wrong Pavilion.
Dana Wynn motioned to accept the Financial Report, Natalie Lussier seconded the motion, all were in favor. Financial Report were accepted.
Quick Updates:
- Lacrosse Uniforms – The uniforms are in and the team is wearing. They look great. Cost for uniforms came to $2,981.Music Field Trip – presented by Mr. Garcia – students met with Carlotta from Phantom of the Opera and interviewed her. The students attended a theater workshop, played Forrest Gump trivia, lunched at Bubba Gumps, attended Broadway show. The students were well behaved, all comments on the students were positive, as were the comments from the students on the trip.Art Trip – See April Addendum Minutes
- T-Shirts – Norwich Tech PFO fundraiser (also for Road Race) – original quote was $4.32 each from J & D, they now have changed their pricing to $7.32 each and charging for the screen printing. Prokop pricing is $3.50 each with a $2.00 each screen printing charge and will waive one screen printing charge and must order in bulk. New company – T-Shirt One out of Indiana, $4.27 per t-shirt to include shipping & handling, front/back screen printing, one color t-shirt, one color screen printing, also includes artist/mockup. Company is very reputable, website with webcam for anyone to check into. Once decision is made, contract and mock up is sent, with contract signing a deposit of 50% is required. Once t-shirts are received, balance is then owed.
Natalie Lussier motioned to table the NTHS PFO T-shirt fundraiser and finish negotiations until the next school year, Michael Gaffey seconded the motion, all were in favor. Motion was accepted.
5. Sticker Sales – The stickers are in!! The advertising for sale will begin tomorrow in the office, at lunch time. Dana Wynn will spend some time at the school for the students to purchase. Kim Passmore suggested the following for pricing: $3.00 each for the bar stickers; $5.00 for the logo stickers. Upon further discussion, Dana Wynn motioned to sell the stickers at these prices, John Kelly seconded the motion, all were in favor. Motion was accepted. Kim Passmore made the motion to revisit the pricing if the stickers were not selling at these prices, Natalie Lussier seconded the motion, all were in favor. Motion was accepted.
Unfinished Business:
- Road Race – Lori Peoples to call Norwich DPW for donation of water bottles or other items for gift bags. First 100 runners registered to receive a free NTHS PFO t-shirt. Discussion on which company to go with for this t-shirt order. Michael Gaffey motioned to order from T-Shirt One, Michael Garcia seconded the motion, all were in favor. Motion accepted. Dana Wynn motioned to order a quantity of 150, Natalie Lussier seconded the motion, all were in favor. Motion accepted. Dr. Menuonos and Ms. Cronin will be in attendance at the PFO Road Race. More on Road Race at special meeting immediately following regular PFO meeting. See attached minutes.Bylaws Committee – Lori Peoples and Patricia Hans have begun work on the new Bylaws.
- Skills USA – Kelly O’Hara has been added to the list of students going to the Nationals Skills USA competition for Chapter Display. Skills USA has asked for a donation of $1,000.00 to help offset the cost of the student’s trip. Dana Wynn motioned to contribute, Kim Passmore seconded the motion, all were in favor. Motion passed.
New Business:
- Student of the Month – For the month of April there were 10 nominees. The April winner was Bill Maruzo. The PFO recognized 82 students of which there were not many students who were duplicated over this past school year.Peachtree Apartment Victims – staff Teddy and Deb were victims of the apartment complex fire. Karol Gleason suggested a $100 gift card to Walmart. Dana Wynn motioned, Michael Garcia seconded the motion, all were in favor. Motion was passed.Teacher Appreciation Week – PFO would like to sponsor a breakfast this year. Dana Wynn investigated a lot of different options. Dana Wynn motioned to have Panera come in on Wednesday morning with a full compliment of breakfast and set up staff for the faculty, Thomas Wainwright seconded the motion, one opposed, all remaining were in favor. Motion passed.
- Completion of Terms - Natalie Lussier submitted her letter of term completion, effective June 30, 2008 as the NTHS PFO Secretary. Dana Wynn submitted her letter of term completion, effective at the end of the school year 2007 – 2008, as the NTHS PFO President.
Principal’s Report:
Given by Michael Gaffey. Dr. Menuonos unable to attend. All is going well.
