Norwich Tech Chapter
State Competition Date: March 28, 2008
- Competition takes place at Vinyl Tech in Middletown
- At this time, the following events will take place “off site”- students in these events will board buses at Vinyl Tech to be transported to the following competition sites:
- Carpentry- Carpenters Union Hall- Meriden
- HVAC- Wilcox Tech Meriden
- Nurse Assisting- Wilcox Tech Meriden
- Graphics- Wilcox Tech Meriden
- All other trade events will take place at Vinyl Tech
- All Leadership events will take place at Vinyl Tech
- Cost for the competition is $25.00 per student. Make checks payable to Norwich Technical High School. Cash will also be accepted. Payment is due no later than March 19th. Students must make payments in the main office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during lunch. There will be no refunds after March 20, 2008.
- Transportation to the competition will be from Norwich Tech at 5:30 AM on March 28th. All students competing must take the bus from Norwich Tech.
- Lunch will be served at the various competitions. Following the competition, all students will be transported from other sites to Vinyl where there will be a dance and dinner will be served.
- Students will then be transported to Southern Connecticut State University Lyman Center for the Performing Arts. Parents are urged to attend the awards ceremony. The dress code for the awards ceremony is “professional Attire”. No jeans or T-shirts or other shirts with logos. No mini skirts or tank tops.
- Students must bring required tools for their trade event. Department heads have the tool lists. There are also dress codes for events that will require students changing for the awards ceremony.
- Leadership Event dress code is a white dress shirt and black dress pants.
- Students competing will need to provide the following forms:
- Permission Slip
- Medical Liability and Code of Conduct form
