Several Drafting
students in the 12th, 11th,and 10th grade are involved in a major
production assignment for the Aerial Lift company. Based in Milford,
Connecticut, Aerial Lift Inc. produces heavy duty, mechanized
devices that are mounted on trucks to do a variety of tasks including
trimming the high branches of trees.
As part of a three phase contract, students under the supervision
of Department Head Gary Carlson and instructor Charles Haynes,
will be converting all of the company's drawings into electronic
versions using AutoCAD software. The students will be working
with Aerial Lift's engineers who are located in Wisconsin. The
challenging project will give students invaluable experience which
will help prepare them for the real world of work when they graduate. |
