Dear Parent/Guardian:
Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
O’Brien Technical High School plans on holding TRADE/TECHNOLOGY
SELECTION NIGHT for current 9th grade students and
their parents. However, we have been made aware that the
weather for Wednesday daytime may be unsettled with ice and freezing
rain. Please note the following schedule for Trade/Technology
Selection Night:
- If there is a regular day of school on Wednesday, Trade/Technology
Selection Night will take place as scheduled from 6:00 – 8:00
p.m. on Wednesday, February 13th.
- If there is a delayed opening of school on Wednesday,
Trade/Technology Selection Night will take place as scheduled
from 6:00 – 8:00
p.m. on Wednesday, February 13th.
- If there is no school on Wednesday or a cancellation
of evening activities noted on the local television news
stations due to inclement weather, Trade/Technology Selection
Night will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2008 from
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The evening’s program will provide you with an opportunity
to visit the three top trade/technology choices that your child
has selected for their 6 day trade/technology experience. You
will learn about each technology area, the curriculum, specific
requirements pertaining to tools and uniforms as well as job
opportunities available in each technology. You will have
the opportunity to meet the trade/technology instructors and
ask specific questions pertaining to their programs.
The information you receive during the Trade/Technology Selection
Night is important. It assists your child with making
their final trade/technology selection by February 14th or February
15th –should there be a snow cancellation for the
Wednesday evening event. Your involvement in assisting
your child is critical in this selection process. Placement
in each trade/technology area is highly competitive.
We encourage your active participation in this selection process
and look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Lisa Hylwa
