| Platt
Tech students and staff participated in a mock car crash to show
the devastating effects of drinking and driving. Scheduled right
before the Prom, the activity is meant to bring home to students
the dangers of drunk driving. The actors in the "crash"
were all students at Platt Tech and their parents were played by
instructors. Milford Mayor James L. Richetelli Jr. spoke to the
students telling them that although this was a simulated car crash,
accidents like this happen all too often in real life. The event
was the result of several months planning by Tom Caruso, a parent
of a Platt Tech student. The Milford Fire Department, Police Department
and EMTs helped sponsor the event. |
