Membership in this chapter of the National Honor Society is an honor bestowed upon a student.  Selection for membership is by a faculty council vote, and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service.  Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities.

Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be members of the sophomore, junior, or senior class and have a minimum cumulative scholarship average of 85.0 (B) or its equivalent. This scholastic level of achievement shall remain fixed. The candidate's eligibility shall then be considered on service, leadership, and character.

Any member who falls below the standards which were the basis of election (scholarship, leadership, service, and character) shall be properly warned by the chapter advisor(s) by letter, and give one marking period to correct the deficiency, except in the case of flagrant violation of school rules (cheating, lying, skipping classes, slander, insubordination) or civil laws in which case a member does not necessarily have to be warned.  A member will be allowed only one warning.  Once a member is dismissed, he/she is never again eligible for membership in the NHS.
