School Uniform Policy

It is the policy of A.I. Prince that all students will be in compliance with the uniform policy in both academics and trade in order to be in class and participate. Every effort will be made to assist students with being in compliance each day. The last resort, if a student cannot or will not comply, will be that the student be removed from classes or have to go home for the day.

Shirts:

Shirts will be offered in a variety of styles including long and short sleeve polo shirts, mock tees and button-down oxford dress shirts. Color options for shirts will be black, white, deep purple, grey and yellow. Shirts will have a logo which will be imprinted or embroidered on the shirt.

Sweaters:

V-neck sweaters (sleeveless also) and crew neck sweatshirts will be offered and must have the school logo (not the athletics logo for P.E.) to be worn in school.  

Pants:

Students will wear khaki material pants in Black and/or Tan only. The pants must be normal khaki four-pocket pants. Cargo pants will not be acceptable. All pants must fit properly and not drop below the waist. A belt is not mandatory but preferred.

Shoes:

Student must wear sneakers, close-toed shoes with backs, or work boots.

(Students still must wear boots for shop. The boots do not have to be steel-toe boots.)

Skirts:

Girls will be allowed to wear khaki skirts or skorts as long as the length is appropriate. Two inches above the knee or longer is the rule.

Physical Education:

Students must wear the proper athletic clothing for P.E. this coming year. There are some options available but basically it is a combination of tee-shirt or sweatshirt with the Prince Athletics logo and shorts or sweatpants with the logo. Students who are not wearing the proper P.E. uniform will not be allowed to participate and will have to make up P.E. hours in order to receive credit.

Tee-shirts:

If students choose to wear a tee-shirt under the uniform shirt, it must be white or the same color as the uniform shirt. All shirts must be tucked in as part of the uniform. The only exception is the academic uniform shirt that is specifically a ladies cut garment.

Trade Uniforms:

Each trade makes an individual decision concerning the trade uniform. The two things that trades have in common with academics is that shirts must have some logo or script identifying the trade and shirts must be tucked into the pants at all times.

Anything with the logo must be ordered from Darter Specialties . You can order by picking up an order form at the school and mailing or faxing the order to Darter, or by going directly to the website which is.  All other items such as pants and boots can be purchased anywhere as long as they meet the uniform policy requirements.
