Connecticut Director Heidi Balch with National Director Tim Lawrence Connecticut members of SkillsUSA did very well at the National Championships in Kansas City June 24-27, 2008.

Bennett Minchella of Platt Technical High School won the Gold Medal in the Technical Drafting event. The O'Brien Tech team of Marc A. Proch, Brian Stevens, and Anthony C. Massafra won the Silver Medal in the Automateed Manufacturing Technology event. Kailah M. Pflugbeil of Grasso Tech won the Bronze Medal in the Food and Beverage Service competition.
