SKILLSUSA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
I am pleased to announce that
our students did extremely well during the national conference in
Kansas City, MO.
We had 9 events in the top 10,
and 7 in the top 20. According to the national statistics the students
were already considered to be in the top 2% in the nation before
entering the national event. This is an accomplishment that they
will never forget!
We
had one student earn a Bronze medal - Gina Ferrucci, From Platt,
Placed 3rd in Cosmetology.

that placed in the top ten:

Grasso, Placed 4th in Carpentry.
• Dylan Lavallee, From Norwich, Placed 5th in Residential
Wiring
• Christopher Hawksley, From Bullard Havens, Placed 6th in
Plumbing.
• Kris Young, From Bullard Havens, Place 6th in Culinary Arts.
• Ryan Marklinsky & Pedro Soto, From Platt, Placed 7th
in Robotics and Automation Technology.
• Juan Mazo, From Platt , Placed 7th in Technical Computer
Applications.
• Scott Cloutier, From Norwich. Placed 8th in Electronics
Technology.
• Jason Salvas, From Ellis, Placed 9th in Masonry.
The following is a list of students
that placed in the top twenty:
• David Pelleteir, From
Cheney, Placed 13th in Diesel Equipment Technology.
• Sasha Duran, From Bullard Havens, Placed 16th in Graphic
communications
• Melissa Viera, From Platt, Placed 16th in Food & Beverage
Service.
• James Brochu, From Vinal, Placed 17th in Collision Repair
Technology.
• Amanda Smith, From Wilcox, Placed 18th in First Aid –
CPR.
• Tyren Gaskins, Jacob Lineberry, Nathan McCarthy, Joesph
Meehan, Jose Pacheco, Jonathan Rodriguez and Adam Travers, From
Vinal, Placed 19th in Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
• Derek Heid, From Abbott, Placed 20th in Related Technical
Math.
All
of the Connecticut Delegation did an outstanding job, and overcame
incredible obstacles to be in Kansas City, They are not only champions
from their school, but for the Connecticut Technical High School
System.
