Dear Parents and Guardians:
There has been some confusion regarding school delays/cancellation procedures during snow days. These are the guidelines we follow when our school’s schedule is affected by bad weather:
Always monitor the following TV stations for delays and /or school cancellations:
WTNH – Channel
8- http://www.wtnh.com/subindex/weather/storm_closings
NBC – Channel
30- http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/weather/school_closings
WSFB – Channel
3- http://www.wfsb.com/closings/index.html
WTIC
- Fox 61-http://www.fox61.com/pages/wtic_school_closing
Announcements are also made via radio stations:
WPLR 99.1
STAR 99.9
We cancel classes if the school district of New Haven cancels classes.
For school delays please follow your sending town’s bus delay schedule. Students will be excused for being tardy if the sending town has a different bus delay schedule than Eli Whitney.
If our school is open but your sending district cancels classes, and bus transportation is not available, your child will be excused from attending school that day. Please make sure to call the absence line (203-397-4031 ext. 324) to report the absence. A parent’s note, explaining the reason for the absence, should be submitted the next school day.
If
you have any questions, please contact me at 203-397-4031 ext.

Sincerely,
