Courtney
Burns, a Junior in Health Tech and a member of the Skills USA
Team, had an opportunity to represent Eli Whitney on April 21st,
in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza. She was part of the taping
of a CPR/First demonstration for the Today show. The demonstration,
sponsored by the United States Department of Labor and OSHA,
was to bring attention to teen safety in the workplace. In attendance
were the Secretary of Labor and the other Today Show
celebrities. Courtney was chosen for the CPR/First
Aid demonstration after she placing third in the State
Skills USA competition.
“I
am truly happy, that I have been given this opportunity to
represent both Eli Whitney and the Technical High School System”,
said Courtney. Courtney,
also had an amazing opportunity to be seen in Rockefeller Plaza
while Alicia Keys gave a live performance. |
