Over
3,000 Connecticut students from around the state signed up
for this CBIA sponsored expo that ran June 4-6, 2008 at the
Connecticut Expo Center in Hartford. Andre Wilson, who was
the Eli Whitney 2007 valedictorian, currently holds an “A” average
at Albertus Magnus College and is planning to be a Mechanical
Engineer, manned the booth to show his Machineopoly board he
designed while under the tutelage of his Manufacturing Technology
instructors Mr. Angel Perez and Mr. Tom Kenyon. The Manufacturing
Technology Department at Eli Whitney uses MasterCam in conjunction
with the Cartesian coordinate system in their department to
creatively draw and machine the board. The results from the
fine skills learned at this department translated to CWE/WBL
positions and permanent jobs have already been guaranteed for
every eligible senior in the manufacturing program. |
