Right before our Manufacturing Technology class of 2009 seniors departed for work and college, they and a couple underclassmen were invited to participate at the NHMA New Haven Manufacturers Association meeting and dinner held at the Woodwinds in Branford. During dinner, the students sat among business owners, dignitaries and NHMA members who were very impressed with our students. Prior to dinner, while wait staff tempted guests with trays of hors d’ oeuvres like scallops wrapped in bacon and beef Wellington, our MT students presented a table full of their hard work for display. The students shared information on their projects and potential employers distributed business cards. Mr. Kenyon and Mr. Perez led their Eli Whitney Manufacturing Technology students while Mr. Valdez from the school counseling department was on hand to enjoy the students’ outreach. Kiara Perez, Maribel Saucedo, Riqui Irigoyen and Deshawn Taylor were there to represent the manufacturing class of 2009. Italo Diaz and Erik Vazquez represented the Manufacturing Technology classes of 2010 and 2011 respectively.
