Apple Award Program

The Apple award is given during the first faculty meeting of each month.  This large apple is filled with candy and/or useful goodies.  The recipient keeps the apple for the month and consumes the goodies or uses the materials inside.   That recipient will then pass the apple onto another recipient at the next month’s faculty meeting.

As the next meeting approaches, the current recipient refills the apple and gives it to another staff member from a different department or shop than their own.  The current recipient must explain to the rest of the faculty why the new recipient deserves the apple.  The new recipient would then say a few words in response to being awarded the apple.  This process then continues each month thereafter. 

To be awarded this apple, the recipient has to have done something above and beyond for the presenter of the apple or the presenter witnesses or knows of something above and beyond that the recipient did for students or staff.   It is a fun and unique method of appreciation and one we can credit to Ms. Noel for beginning.
