The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony was held May 19, 2008.  There were 11 inductees this year: Erika Colon, Gernette Ruiz, Shaunteh Scott, Matthew Watkins, Daryel Barros, Veronica Colon, Italo Diaz, Gloria Juarez, Guadalupe Lopez, Megan Sanchez and Tyisha Vargas.

 Our Guest Speaker was Mrs. Chaka Felder- McEntire, the founder of Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Program who also happens to be a Guidance Counselor from Bullard Havens Technical High School.  She spoke to the students about leading by example.

Charlene Cintron (senior) spoke about scholarship.  Catherine Cartegena (senior) spoke about service.  Jennifer Rodriguez (senior) spoke about leadership and Tiffany Anthony (senior) spoke about character.  Each senior shared what these qualities mean to them personally, and how they applied those principles throughout the year to lead other students by their examples.

Parents, relatives, faculty, and friends came out to support a beautiful ceremony that was followed by a delicious dinner prepared by Eli Whitney’s own Chef Harroll Curry.
