On
April 25, 2008, Kassey Brummell campaigned and won a state officer
position against a field of 17 SkillsUSA Officer Candidates from
Vinal, Norwich, Cheney, Goodwin and Prince. The SkillsUSA Director
noted that Kassey’s
campaign speech was excellent. Her final Officer position will
be determined at the State Officer Training during August 8-10.
Kassey
also serves as the Secretary for Eli Whitney’s SkillsUSA
chapter. This is the second year in a row that an Eli Whitney
student has been voted into the State Officer rank. Carlos Cepeda,
a 12th grade Electrical student, served as the SkillsUSA Secretary
of the State for the 2007/08 school year.
