Lady
Tigers Win the CSC Championship Game Against Classical
Comeback Wins Provide Momentum
Coach
Elizabeth Scheff’s pre-game pep talks cover the same ground. Expect a challenge, put up the block, go for an attack and most importantly – Scheff stresses – just
play and have fun.
So
when the Lady Tigers fell into a sizeable two match deficit, coach
Scheff and Martin encouraged the players to just keep pressing
forward. Amy Huhn, co-captain, displayed her leadership by motivating her teammates to play hard one point at a time. Jen Goritaire, co-captain, urged her teammates to believe that they can win by demonstrating high levels of energy.
Before long the momentum shifted and match three, four and five ended with a win to overcome the two match deficit and win the game as a team. Megan Haggett helped defensively, along with Anna Oshima and Deseire Gonzalez. Samantha Batista, Roxanne Oulette, Lianne Gosselin and Stacy Meikle showed their skills at the net. Stephanie Burke, Windham Tech’s setter did an amazing job assisting our power hitters. Amy Huhn had 11 kills, 2 aces and 8 digs; Jennifer Goritaire had 5 aces and 8 kills; and Roxanne Oulette had 10 service points and 7 kills.
Congratulations
Lady Tiger Volleyball.
