The Wright Tech Girl’s Volleyball Team finished the 2007
season with 2 complete game wins and several individual matches
won. This season our team had 15 girls - 1 Senior, 1 Junior,
7 Sophomores and 6 Freshmen. Only 3 girls were 2nd year players
(from the 2006 season). Although our team was young, the
girls caught on quickly and worked really hard both in practice
and at games.
Rookie sophomore, Shadae Taylor, had 115 service points with 56
aces, 16 kills, 21 assists and 29 digs for the season. Shadae
made the 1st Team All Conference for the Constitution State Conference
(CSC) this season. Sophomore newcomer, Sha’la Hall,
also played very hard scoring a spot on the 2nd Team All Conference. Returning
player Travae Barrett, also a sophomore, received Honorable Mention
for the CSC. All of the girls showed energy and enthusiasm
on the court, cheering each other on and hustling all of the time.
I was so pleased with the hard work and dedication that all of
my girls showed this season and I am looking forward to the 2008
season. |
