Candidate will have instructional and departmental responsibilities for the effective implementation of the curriculum, literacy school improvement plans and instructional programs. The candidate will manage and support teachers in the General Education Department (EL, English, Health/PE and Social Studies). Candidate will assume a leadership role at the school level for literacy.  Application materials should document experience, skills and training in effective teaching and instructional leadership related to: STAR/AR implementation and progress monitoring, literacy and literacy interventions, CT Core ELA Standards implementation, professional development planning and implementation, effective standards-based lesson planning, differentiated instruction, SRBI, positive classroom management and climate strategies, blended/flex learning (including mobile devices) for delivery of instruction and submittal of student work,  integration of 21st Century instructional technology, use of varied assessments that support high stakes testing, data-driven decision-making, TEAM and Teacher Evaluation and Support. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, students and staff. The candidate should possess effective time management and organizational skills.

Health Technology Department Head O’Brien Technical High School, Ansonia, CT

#109 - Health Occupations and one of the following Department Head certifications: #092, #105, #110 or qualify for a Durational Shortage Area Permit (DSAP). Candidate must be an RN with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree and eight (8) years of professional experience.  Preferred candidate has experience teaching, preparing lesson plans and differentiated learning.  Program will include introduction of students to health care field, instruction in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, the study of human behavior through the life span, introduction and clinical instruction for nursing assistant certification, medical assistant and advanced career exploration. Preference may be given to those candidates who have completed the following courses at CCSU; VTE 113, VTE 116 and SPEC ED, experience in differentiated learning strategies and problem solving skills.  Obtaining a CDL license with the proper endorsements within one year of employment is required to drive the student transport vehicle. Certification as a C.P.R. instructor through the American Heart Association is required within the first year of employment.

Plumbing and Heating Instructor Grasso Technical High School, Groton, CT

#90 - Plumbing.  Preferred candidate will have eight years of hands-on plumbing and heating experience. Also, experience in differentiated learning, classroom management, and lesson planning.  Applicant must possess P-1 Unlimited Contractor’s License issued by the CT Department of Consumer Protection at the time of hiring and within two (2) years of service the minimum of an S-7 Limited Heating Contractor’s License. Preferred candidates will hold their Solar Thermal License STC-1.  A CDL license with the proper endorsements to drive the student transport vehicle, OSHA 10, and CPR and first aid certification within the first year of employment. Preference may be given to those candidates who have completed the following courses at CCSU; VTE 113, VTE 116 and Special Education 325. Involvement in student/community activities, and experience using technology for educational purposes.

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of multiple technologies to support classroom instruction, Assistive Technology, Accessible Instructional Material (AIM), on-line supports, Universal Design practices, knowledge in the use of personal devices in multiple settings, blended learning, and differentiated instruction. Applicant will need to have working knowledge of IEP software navigation at the school level, the Collaborative Design Model for Special Education, CSS, curricula for the development and alignment of appropriate goals, objectives and lesson design.
