CTECS Principal Selected for Fulbright Global Leaders Program

Congratulations to John Ryan, a CTECS principal, who has been selected for the 2026–27 Fulbright Global Leaders Program! John is one of 30 education administrators from 17 states and the District of Columbia chosen for the program.
The Fulbright Global Leaders Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, gives education leaders opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from high-performing education systems around the world, with a focus on topics such as AI in education and career readiness.
Through the program, John will visit high-performing technical and vocational education systems around the world to explore career readiness, apprenticeship programs, artificial intelligence (AI) in education, and partnerships between schools and industry. His destination has not yet been announced, and he expects to learn where he will be traveling later this year.
John hopes to learn from educators abroad while sharing strategies that have helped CTECS connect students with employers and prepare them for the workforce.
“I hope to bring a willingness to listen, learn, and exchange ideas,” he said. “I hope to build meaningful relationships that can lead to new ideas and partnerships that benefit students, educators, employers, and the broader workforce.”
John said his interest in lifelong learning and other cultures motivated him to apply. He plans to bring ideas and best practices back to CTECS to help strengthen career pathways and prepare students for a changing workforce.
Congratulations, John, on this exciting opportunity! We look forward to hearing about your experience and the ideas you bring back to CTECS.
